Week 10-11
December 22-January 4
Happy New Year!
This is what is happening now:
-
The garage is being completely redone. Unfortunately, it was poorly constructed to begin with, so it was sagging under the weight of the 2nd floor. That and the front wall of the house was wet, rotting wood when it should have been cement or some other waterproof material. I'm parking on the street for a while.
-
The plumbers have been doing their thing for the past few days. Nothing too exciting there. Well, maybe interesting to plumbers...not to photograph for this site.
-
We picked out light fixtures. Eric and I spent nearly 2 hours in a local lighting store and when we were done, we had purchased:
-
1 chandelier for the entry way. Here is a picture of the fixture that I found online:
-
5 matching sconces
-
3 ceiling fixtures for the guest room and the girls' rooms
-
1 pendant fixture for the master bedroom
-
2 smaller ceiling fixtures for the downstairs hallway
-
2 outdoor sconces
-
1 matching outdoor light on a post for the walkway
-
We still need to pick out lighting for the offices and bathrooms.
Now I'm starting to think ahead to window treatments which will help me settle on wall colors. And you wonder why we couldn't afford to do anything but stay home on New Year's Eve? :-)
