Week 20-21
February 23-March 9
Lots of pictures here! I've optimized them all to 30K but it's still going to be a large page at 365K. Be patient, I hope it's worth the load.
We lost yet another day due to snow (3/6). Mike is working his guys as fast as they can go, but it looks like we'll be in the apartment until early April. There's only a little left to do with the siding (around the front door). The sheetrock is mostly in place upstairs, and now they're working on the downstairs walls (and the garage).
First, here's the house with the new front door. It was a childhood fantasy of mine to live in a house with a double door, and now I will be!

Now that the walls are up, let's look inside (Mike felt bad that I was taking pictures when the job was such a mess)
When you first walk in and look up the stairs, this is what you see. The door at the end of the stairs is a bathroom (the green sheetrock is moisture resistant for bathrooms, I learned today). The two doors to the right of the bathroom are the girls' rooms. When it's safer, I'll have them come to the house and help decide who gets which room. They are essentially the same size.

This is what it looks like in one of the girls' rooms. The door on the right is a walk-in closet.

This is taken in from the other end of the upstairs hallway. To the left of the bathroom is the guest bedroom.

Looking down on the entry way. The guy on the left is Mike. :-) The door to the kitchen is behind him.

Standing in front of the bathroom, looking down towards the master bedroom.

This is standing in front of the master bedroom, at the end of the upstairs hall, looking down on the entry way.

This is looking inside the hallway bathroom. Our architect did something wonderful here. He knew that the bathroom would be shared by two girls who will be teenagers, as well as any guests so the bathroom is divided into compartments like in some hotels. The door on the left is the toilet, on the right is the tub/shower room. "I don't have any privacy" or "She's hogging the bathroom" will not be heard in my house.

This is the master bedroom, standing in front of the master bath door. To the left is the closet.

Speak of the master closet, here it is. Do you think it's big enough? <g>

Besides my closet, here's the room I'm next most excited about. The master bath. I'm standing at the pocket door which will separate the vanity area from the rest of the bathroom. The whirlpool bath sits under the window.
