Week 9
December 14-December 21
Lots of pictures in this update, (all about 30k in size, patience please) but this may be it for a few weeks. The "mechanical" stage has begun where most of the work is exciting stuff like electricity and plumbing. I can't believe it's been two months. It's been cold in the bedrooms at night, (thank goodness for space heaters) and we're never quite sure where anything is at any given moment.
I've been trying to decide on lighting. Anyone know any good retailers (online or off) for chandeliers that would look good? Let me know.
First, a new exterior view of the house. The brick is gone (yah!). And you can't tell here, but there's been extensive work in the garage. We had some "situations" there that required immediate repair. All the windows, including those on the 1st floor have been installed. I think they're beautiful. Oh, and we have a column on the front porch.

The framing has begun in what will ultimately be our office space. The girls enjoy "sharing" the same room! Notice the "a bomb has struck this room" decorating style. This is due to the fact that there is no closet space (it's now the stairway outside the room). Once the hall stairs are done, there will be a french pocket door installed between these rooms.

Here's a look upstairs! This shot is taken standing in front of the master bedroom. The room straight ahead is the hallway bathroom. To the left is the guest room. To the right are the girls' rooms.

This is just inside the master bedroom door, facing the entry. Right now there's plastic and wood beams (to keep heat in and kids out) but ultimately this will look down on the front door.

This is one of the girls' rooms (we'll let them choose once it's safe to let them upstairs). To the right is a walk-in closet.

The master bathroom. This will be the bathtub (the whirlpool is under the cardboard).

No, this is not another bedroom. It's the master bedroom closet! We're going to have it done by Alternative Closet, the same company that did our new pantry last year.
